A Community That Gives: Celebrating the Generosity That Keeps Us Going

Over the last few months, we have been so blessed by our community—through donations, volunteer work, and the incredible generosity of so many people. I never imagined we would come this far, and I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the amazing sacrifices made by those you may or may not know.

A Sign That Shines Bright

One of the biggest donations of the year? Our brand-new sign, thanks to Central Sign and Lighting.

Last September, I reached out to Dustin and shared what we were doing at Kids Cove Respite Home. Without hesitation, he said, “No problem, I can get you a lit sign.”

Now, I was thinking something small—maybe something for the front window. But Dustin had a bigger vision.

His idea? A 4×8 foot sign on the roof.

And wow, did he deliver. In January, his team installed this beacon on our building—a symbol of hope and a reminder of the incredible generosity that keeps us going.

The Bakery Takes Shape

Last August, I posted about our need for flooring in our soon-to-be bakery. The kitchen needed something durable and easy to clean. That’s when I got a call from Clayton at Legacy Concrete Coating, saying they could help with an epoxy floor. Sure enough, in September, his team showed up and got the job done—an incredible show of dedication and support.

A few weeks later, we got another unexpected blessing. Christina from A-Z Home Restoration called and said, “Hey, my guys have nothing to do—can we come by the bakery and put up drywall?” Out of nowhere, they showed up and made it happen. Then, in January, John Harris stepped in to finish the texturing and touch-ups.

Transformations at the Respite Home

While the bakery was coming together, we also had volunteers hard at work at the respite house.

  • West Lake Christian Church brought a team out and, in just one day, rebuilt our entire upper deck.
  • Bob from You Can Handyman Service has been a huge help, tackling multiple projects throughout the year.
  • Stover Carpet donated new carpet for our living room and playroom, giving our space a much-needed refresh.

Over and over again, we have experienced amazing support from people who believe in what we’re doing. This journey has shown us the power of community, and we are beyond grateful for each person who has stepped up to help.

Thank you all for being part of this mission—we couldn’t do it without you!
